AMANDA { ESTERO FLORIDA SENIOR PHOTOGRAPHER } May26

AMANDA { ESTERO FLORIDA SENIOR PHOTOGRAPHER }...

In early May, I met with Amanda for her senior portraits. Amanda brought her mom and sister along, and we created some amazing images of the women of this family. This session was extra special because Amanda had just finished her senior year in Estero, Florida, and will be heading off to college in Colorado next month—so far away! One of my favorite images of the session is the one with Amanda and her sister, because it represents two sisters who are extremely close and who have a strong bond with one another no matter how far apart they might be. At this age, teens aren’t always the best of “siblings,” but this family was very different—and it was so refreshing to see hugs given without being prompted! Following that same sentiment, my favorite moment was turning around to see Amanda’s sister crying while I was photographing their mom and Amanda together. It brought so much emotion to me just watching her genuine love show through. I truly admired the bond that the three of them have together and the rawness of the emotions that they all showed during the session. Thank you, Amanda and Cristy, for trusting me with this special moment! Amanda—I wish you the best of luck in Colorado, and I know you are going to do great...

DR V {NAPLES FLORIDA HEADSHOTS} May19

DR V {NAPLES FLORIDA HEADSHOTS}...

In late March, I met the amazing Dr. V at StillMotion Studios in Naples for a corporate image shoot. Dr. V is an author who teaches how to prevent and heal breast cancer in a natural way. She has overcome breast cancer herself, and now guides women all across the globe and educates them on how to take a more natural approach to their health. This was such a great session for me. I loved listening to Dr. V tell me about the ways she has helped women in their darkest of times. She has a global following, and with all her knowledge and empathy, it really is no wonder why so many people love her. During the shoot, I loved how she made her green juice and explained the reasoning behind it and how she drinks it every single day one way or another. We made sure to capture that in an image for her branding. I especially loved the last picture of her in the black dress, I feel her fun spirit and beautiful smile shine through so loudly here. Thank you to StillMotion Studios for hosting us and to Janea Soliven of JA Make-Up Artistry for your hair and make-up genius. And thank you most of all to Dr. V for trusting me to help convey your message. I hope to work with you again soon! Your corporate image is your clients first impression. When is the last time you updated your head shot for your business? A recent and fresh executive headshot is a must in the corporate world today. Contact me to learn...

THE MORGAN FAMILY {MARCO ISLAND FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER} May12

THE MORGAN FAMILY {MARCO ISLAND FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER}...

In April, Courtney and her family were visiting Marco Island from Illinois, and she contacted me to take extended family portraits while they were here. Courtney brought her husband Matt and her two adorable twin three-year-old boys, Chance and Maddox. Courtney’s sister Lindsey and her husband Chris came along with their children Audra, age 3 and baby Brooks. Courtney and Lindsay’s parents, Cathy and Marv, rounded out the family. My favorite moment was watching little Brooks enjoy the sand – or rather eat the sand! Also, I loved watching Courtney’s brother-in-law Chris race the all the kids down the beach. Watching the smiles, hearing the laughs, and seeing them run the beach until their legs were ready to give out. To be a kid again… I had my heart swell watching their Grandpa, Marv, interact with the kids. He was such a great hands on Grandpa and reminded me a lot of my own Father and how he is with my children.   Thank you, Courtney, for trusting me with these moments! I hope to see you all again...

MEGAN & FAMILY {NAPLES – FORT MYERS FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER} May05

MEGAN & FAMILY {NAPLES – FORT MYERS FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER}...

In early April, I met Megan and her family – husband Jeremy, and daughters Meredith, Madelyn, and Julia – at the beach for a family session. This wonderful family has been a “grow with me family” ever since their youngest, Meredith, was a baby. I’ve been able to photograph them on three different occasions, and I adore spending time with each and every one of them. It’s an amazing honor to watch my client’s families grow each year. I love watching these girls relax and have fun in front of the camera. They are all so beautiful and unique! This year, it was Meredith’s turn to unfold. She had fun with the posing and then got so animated and adorable. She’s truly a natural, just like her big sisters! Thank you, Megan, for trusting me with these moments every year. I love watching your family...

MORGAN {NAPLES FLORIDA SENIOR PHOTOGRAPHER} Apr28

MORGAN {NAPLES FLORIDA SENIOR PHOTOGRAPHER}...

I met Morgan and her mom, Jennifer, in late March of this year to do Morgan’s senior portraits. Morgan will be heading off to Virginia for college soon after she graduates from one of our local high schools here in Florida. She says she will miss Naples, but with family nearby in Virginia, she is so excited for this next chapter! It was fun to get to know Morgan and especially to hear about her recent travels to Spain. She brought the black blazer she bought during that trip to wear during the session, and I thought it was so important to bring those personal touches to the session. By far, though, my favorite image of Morgan is the one with her ukulele. It felt like it was something almost like an image out of the Anthropologie catalog—Morgan’s favorite store! Of course, Morgan looked amazing during the whole session. We met up with Janea Soliven of J&A Make-Up Artistry for hair and make-up before the session started, and they did a lovely job! Thank you, Morgan and Jennifer, for trusting me with this moment. Morgan, I know you are going to do great things, and I can’t wait to hear all about...

NICOLLE {NAPLES SENIOR PHOTOGRAPHY} Apr21

NICOLLE {NAPLES SENIOR PHOTOGRAPHY}...

I met Nicolle and her mom, Kristy, for Nicolle’s senior portraits. I knew Nicolle was an avid dancer, so we decided to incorporate ballet as the central theme for her session. I always love to give a spin on a session that turns into something we haven’t done before. I’ve shot with dancers before, but this time, I suggested we do it with more of a beauty meets grunge theme. (I love some good grunge!) I wanted that “Beauty and the Beast” effect, so we let the nitty-gritty of the environment lend itself to the backdrop of this beautiful girls session. I also suggested that rather than pull her amazing hair back and up in a bun or top knot – like you would do most of the time with a ballerina – that we instead leave her gorgeous locks down to add some fierce uniqueness to the look I was envisioning. Janea Soliven from JA Make-Up Artistry did her make-up application, adding to that beautiful look. I absolutely love how the whole shoot turned out. My favorite image is the one of Nicolle leaning on the garage door with the sun peering out over her shoulder as it set. I asked her to give me a “fierce” look, and she nailed it. I also loved watching her walk through alleyways in her pointe dance shoes. I never realized it was so tough to walk in those things normally when they aren’t on their actual toes! 🙂 From start to finish, the session was perfect. Janea always nails the best looks for my clients, and it’s why I trust her so much for my sessions. I know she can handle any look with no problem. It was so hot on this April night here in...

BABY BOY {NAPLES FLORIDA NEWBORN SESSION} Apr14

BABY BOY {NAPLES FLORIDA NEWBORN SESSION}...

Aldo & Catherine brought their handsome baby boy to my studio a few days after he was born in January. This wonderful new family is from Italy, but they spend part of the year living here in Naples.  I had first met Aldo and Catherine during Catherine’s maternity session, and I was looking forward to meeting their special guy. I love working with newborns, but I particularly loved this session because watching Aldo and Catherine with their first child was special for me. It brought back so many memories of the early days with my own first. I love this image of him bundled in blue again the blue rug. His skin coloring with the blue tones is gorgeous. Thank you Aldo and Catherine for trusting me with your maternity memories as well as these special early moments with your first child. There is no greater compliment than that for a photographer. On top of it all, you have already begun sending me referrals from friends/family and I cannot express how much that means to me! I can’t wait to capture the three of you in your family sessions as you all grow...

WHY MY SESSIONS ARE DIFFERENT {NAPLES FL PHOTOGRAPHER} Apr07

WHY MY SESSIONS ARE DIFFERENT {NAPLES FL PHOTOGRAPHER}...

Whether it’s a modeling shoot for a child looking to break into the business, a family shoot for a vacation or a child’s birthday, or anything else—color is key. I try to emphasize the importance of color in all of my imagery, and I want to find something that pops. That way, clients have a good idea of what to pick for their wardrobe tones. I love to challenge myself by trying to see the things or the environments that are typically overlooked. I like to find spots that most people would walk right past—and in that mundane, I find the most beauty and the most dynamic locations. After all, we as photographers have to look deep and see what others do not, and with a little colors, you can bet we can turn the ordinary into extraordinary with joyful, fun, vibrant images. Take these shots, for example. Just bringing in a yellow chair on the sidewalk or placing bright, vibrant colors in a wardrobe against a blue backdrop on a building can make all the difference in the world—and it helps make your images really stand out! I love the first image because of his genuine smile and the way it captures the “littleness” of his age at this time in his life. And that color works to make his smile pop so you can really appreciate it! This one below has a great smile but also a wonderful environment. I feel like the small blue area of paint on the door behind him as well as on the wood trim would normally go unnoticed, but I wanted to tie it in when I spotted it. Add to that the brown barrel, which is just sort of hum drum until you bring in the colors, and the whole image had texture and a bit of character! I try to make each of my sessions unique, and one of the best ways to do different shoots is to use colors. I want my clients to have different sessions each and every time, no matter if it’s a high school senior, a family, a newborn, or a child model (I work with some Miami and Orlando kids looking to build portfolios and update comp cards for casting calls). Contact me to help look into your world and make your memories shine. I love to find new, more vibrant images and...

SHANNON O.’S FAMILY {NAPLES FAMILY BEACH PHOTOGRAPHER} Mar31

SHANNON O.’S FAMILY {NAPLES FAMILY BEACH PHOTOGRAPHER}...

Shannon brought her family to see me all the way from Iowa, and I absolutely adored them! Mom and Dad have three adorable little boys—one of whom was the same age as my youngest little girl, so their baby reminded me of her while we were doing the shoot. Connor and Brendan, the two older brothers, were absolutely adorable as well! I loved getting to see the three boys interacting, and Connor and Brendan were so great with their baby brother. It was obvious they truly adore him. In fact, I was so excited to get a silhouette of the boys all holding hands. It really showed how well the two oldest looked after their baby brother, and I loved seeing them all together. My favorite image has to be the first family silhouette because it was just a candid family moment – relaxed and natural. I love those “caught in the moment” images! I love shooting silhouettes at the end of a beach session. Capturing a family’s love with the cascading cotton candy skies lit up behind them…! It just makes my heart sing. Plus, silhouettes always make for great art in a family’s gallery—especially beach ones! Shannon, thank you again for allowing me to capture these moments. I loved getting to know you and your family, and I hope to see you next time you are...

VALERIE {NAPLES, FLORIDA SENIOR SHOOT} Mar24

VALERIE {NAPLES, FLORIDA SENIOR SHOOT}

In February, I met with Valerie and her mom, Connie, for Valerie’s senior high school portraits. Valerie was wonderful to shoot with. Although she had never been in front of the camera as a “model” before, you never would’ve known it. She worked with such grace and completely delivered all that my camera was able to soak up. Having her mom on set was such a treat; they were both so fun and so gracious. I felt like I had known both of them for years! With these new senior session offerings, we’re able to take an already fantastic senior shoot and add on the option of a high fashion look to the second half of the shoot. We shoot the first half of the session as we would normally. Then, we transform the client to look like someone completely different. This allows them to really be that “model for a day” and have fun with the transformation process. We’ll work with each senior girl to come up with a high fashion look that they can be excited about. We’ll not only capture the chapter of life that they’re in right now but also a FAB look like no other just for the fun of it all. In Valerie’s case, we went for a retro vintage vibe, and she killed it! My favorite part of the day was watching our make-up artist, Janea Soliven of J&A Make-Up Artistry, and hair genius, Corey Alphonse of La Te Da salon, transform Valerie from a normal teenager into a high fashion model. Their hair and make-up skills are unmatched, and that is why we have them as part of our team. We want only the best for our clients! Janea and Corey are always available for the best looks and the most unique transformations possible. We work extremely hard to find and use different locations from other photographers in the area. (Some of the best parts of being a photographer are the location scouting moments!) When we have a great location that we stumble upon, we use that environment in every way possible for that shoot. The first half of Valerie’s shoot was shot on location in Naples, while the second half took place at StillMotion Studios. I love the first image of Valerie outside against the wall because I love how the vibrancy of her smile pops with her surroundings. I also love the image of Valerie in the studio because it really accentuates just how beautiful her facial features really are. The hair and make-up techniques are fabulous, but it is truly this girl who makes those artistic applications pop! So… where else can you wear cool props, be done up by some of the top hair and make-up artists in the area, and play in front of the camera like you’re a true supermodel for the day??? Angie Seaman Photography wants to deliver a senior experience for you like no other. Don’t settle! You have been waiting for this moment for 12 years! Thank you to Valerie and Connie for trusting us with this moment! We could not have asked for a better...

TIME IS A THIEF {PHOTOGRAPHER’S KID} Mar23

TIME IS A THIEF {PHOTOGRAPHER’S KID}...

I almost left this kid in an alley tonight. On purpose. No joke. I was so very angry with him. We’d made a deal. I wanted a shoot with him so that I could replace one of the canvases on our wall from when he was younger. He promised he’d cooperate. I learned that his idea of cooperation and my idea of cooperation were two totally different things. He wanted to shoot for Instagram. I wanted to shoot for our wall at home. Those are two very different looks. After 20 minutes of arguing with him over why he wouldn’t give me a smile – why he wouldn’t just give me a real look – something – anything – and then him telling me “I’m not here to do one of your senior shoots. I’m not a client!” – Something just clicked and I had one of those ah-ha moments. His words began to echo in my head over and over. “I’m not a client!” It was one of those moments where God reminds you that time really is a thief and that in two short years he’ll be moving on toward college and adulthood. It was one of those reminders to shut up, bite my tongue in half and just appreciate that he’s here with me, one on one, and even standing in front of my lens for me. It’s his last night of Spring Break and instead of being with his friends, he’s here with me. His Mom. For him that was A LOT. I felt a nudge to quickly quit complaining and just shoot the moment. Instead of shooting what it looked like…I needed to shoot what it “felt” like. So I did. From that minute forward, I shot the session...

LISA’S FAMILY (NAPLES FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER) Mar17

LISA’S FAMILY (NAPLES FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER)...

A few days before Christmas, I met with Lisa and her family on the beach for a wonderful family session. Lisa’s family is from Virginia, but they have a home here in Naples as well. It seems that many families want family pictures when their children are toddlers, but it is so important to documents these memories every year, even (especially!) when you have teenagers! This was such a low-key family—they rolled with the whole experience even though the weather was a bit windy. Luckily, beyond the wind, it was a beautiful evening, with blue skies that eventually turned into a very vibrant sunset. Thank you, Lisa, for trusting me to capture this moment for you. I love being your Naples family photographer and getting to spend time with you and your boys. I hope to get to see you again...

DON’T BLINK Mar09

DON’T BLINK

Those first few days after they’re born are such a fog. You’re a brand new Mom. He’s your first born. Everything seems so foreign. You feel totally clueless. But as the years progress…they get bigger. More independent. You get better at juggling it all. They go from your baby, to your little man, to a young man so very quickly. You take them to all of their sports games – driving them back and forth. Hours on end are spent in the car with them over the course of many years. You watch them grow up right in front of you. Literally…growing at rapid speed…right.in.front.of.your.face. They get braces. They get their first serious girlfriend. They begin to grow into a full grown man right in front of your eyes. Before you know it…they’re 13. Then 14. 15. And then… sixteen. Instead of “practice” driving… They actually get the real thing. Overnight…they turn 16 and get their drivers license. As the poem says (in reference to raising your children)…”one day it will be the last day you ________(hold their hand to cross the street, tuck them into bed at night, give them a bath, etc.)” I’m going to bed with such massive emotional and heart shredding thoughts that this week marks the “last days I’ll be driving my first born son to and from school.” Or to and from anywhere for that matter. I’ve taken him to school – there and back – every single day basically since we moved to Florida five years ago. I’ve spent every single one of my mornings and my afternoons with him in one way or another. I’ve picked him up from late night football practices – watching his sweaty, worn out self, exit the field all while thanking God for...

SWEET GIANNA NAPLES FLORIDA NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHER

SWEET GIANNA {NAPLES FT. MYERS FLORIDA NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHER} WOW! Long time no hear from eh? Goodness…you can tell “season” hit right at the time of my last post back in September and then BOOM! I feel off the face of the earth. Whew! It’s now the end of December – almost January – and I’m sliding into home base as I type while finishing out my final few sessions of the 2014 year. This fall and winter kicked my heiney in regard to busy season but I’d rather be busy than not. I’m slowly but surely getting ready to catch my breath and take a quick breather for a week before the next round kicks in. In the meantime, how about this sweet baby girl??? Her Momma is just as beautiful and wanted some unique fall themed images to represent the time frame of her birth. She wore these colors well. After that, we switched it up a bit – a few times actually. No matter what I put on her or around her, her skin tone took to it like magic. For a newborn, she had stunning skin. We even pulled out all the stops – truly fit for a princess… I loved these light aquas and purples on her as well… Mommy requested our moon set up during her shoot too… You never have to want for awesome props during your newborn session if you book with Angie Seaman Photography. We have an amazing collection. Thank you for being such a good baby Gianna. You’re such a beautiful girl!...

MARCO ISLAND FAMILY BEACH PHOTOGRAPHER {NAPLES, FT. MYERS, BONITA SPRINGS} Sep25

MARCO ISLAND FAMILY BEACH PHOTOGRAPHER {NAPLES, FT. MYERS, BONITA SPRINGS}...

I always love working with families in town from other states. Getting to know them and their children are truly such a blast. This particular family is from Texas and they were here vacationing on Marco Island for a week. We had such a hot and sticky – overly humid – evening on this particular night. Their family rolled with it and made the best of their time with me. Such troopers! Mom and Dad rocked their poses together and fell right into position so easily with one another. I always try to capture some of Mom and Dad by themselves because on most occasions it has been a very long time since they’ve had professional pictures done alone of just the two of them. This particular couple have the smiles to prove how in love they still are. They were awesome! So very fun! And their daughters…oh my goodness…such polite and beautiful young ladies. How cute are they?  I loved the color choices that Mom picked out for everyone too. She did a fabulous job! I’m so grateful to have met this gorgeous family. Thank you guys for choosing me to shoot your vacation images. I pray these photographs will bring you many, many, years of enjoyment. If you’re family is in need of a Marco Island family beach photographer, please visit my main website at www.angieseamanphotography.com to contact me via email or phone. Should your vacation travels bring you to Naples, Bonita Springs, Sanibel Island or Ft. Myers, I also shoot for families in those areas as well and would be honored to document and capture your memories for...

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL??? {NAPLES FLORIDA PHOTOGRAPHER} Aug27

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL??? {NAPLES FLORIDA PHOTOGRAPHER}...

It’s that time again. Time for those Friday night lights. For the cheers behind the sidelines. For the stomping of the bleachers. For the concessions of popcorn, hot dogs, cold cokes, etc.  It’s high school football season. And lucky for me, I actually have a high school sophomore (my first born) who plays tight end for his high school team. Last year, I was asked to photograph their games each week. He was a freshman at that time and I was a true rookie to sports photography. I’m always up for a new challenge though so I gladly accepted the honor of being their team photographer. It was a great way to stand on the sidelines and capture these moments with my son and his teammates and it was also a new genre of photography for me to try out. In the end, I truly fell in love with being on the field and capturing those action shots as much as I could. With each new game, I made it a personal goal of mine to find a new angle, a new spot, a new way to capture the normal images a sports photographer might always get. I wanted to seek the different and break the mold. I set out to view the games with a brand new set of eyes and document each and every move from a new perspective. Whether that new perspective meant climbing on a bleacher behind the players to capture their view from the sideline, getting down on my hands and knees with my very pregnant belly to capture all of their different cleats along the sideline (I’m lucky my preggo self was able to get back up without help. lol!)… Whether it meant throwing myself in the middle of the congratulatory line up at the end of the game as the players did their pass by or when I would get right behind the coach during his pep talks or screaming matches to view the players faces and emotions – any of those were fun and challenging for my “so not a sports photographer” self.   I really enjoyed also getting to witness the comrodery of the players together as well as the coaches with the players… These coaches invest so much into our boys and they truly love these kids and want only the best for them. I was privy to the “atta boy” encouraging comments as well as the “what in the world were you thinking???” moments on those sidelines. Both types of scenarios just pushed our sons to be better next time. To say that I had a blast photographing their freshman year of football would be a huge understatement. I literally watched the coaches take them from young boys and separate the boys from the men. The freshman boys who started on that team were incredible young men by the end of their season. With their growth came my growth as a sports photographer. I started as a rookie with sports photography and finished that season feeling like I’d fallen in love with a new chapter of photography. When all was said and done though…it was the moments spent getting to know these players and their coaching staff that made me love the sport even that much more. I try to shoot from my heart when I’m photographing things. Instead of just snapping the shutter like it’s any ol’ day – any ol’ shoot – I push myself to dig deep for the story and then document that story in front of my lens. I want the capturing of the story to be real and genuine. I want to freeze moments in time that not only show what people looked like at that moment in that photograph but also who they were when that image was taken. I think these last two shots really go along with the teams...

WHAT’S IN MY BAG? {NAPLES FLORIDA PHOTOGRAPHER} Aug22

WHAT’S IN MY BAG? {NAPLES FLORIDA PHOTOGRAPHER}...

Many times I’m asked by clients, colleagues, passer by’ers, etc. what type of gear I use or what I shoot with. In the photography industry, many will refer to this as “What’s in your bag?”  So…I thought I’d share this post here on my blog so that my clients and future clients can see and understand why and what I shoot with. First and foremost, I carry two camera bodies with me. I shoot with my primary camera body 99% of the time which is a Nikon D4s. My back-up camera body is a Nikon D700. I carry both with me at all times for a couple of reasons. One…I want both with me at all times in the unlikely event that one camera body decides to give out on me. Most people don’t realize that camera bodies are like car engines. They have what are called “actuations.” This means…how many times will your shutter actually click for you when you go to push the button and take a shot. The same way a car engine turns over and starts when you turn the key, a camera will perform when you push the button. When you’ve reached the end of your actuations, a camera will simply not start, not perform, not click when you push the button. The unfortunate thing is that there is no warning to when this might happen. It just quits. Same as a car engine would. Thankfully, I carry newer camera bodies and when the actuations ever get close to the allotted or predicted amount with any one camera body that I own, I invest in a new upgrade. Thus making the possibility of my cameras not working on cue – slim to none. In the event that one...

NAPLES FT. MYERS FLORIDA SENIOR PHOTOGRAPHER Aug17

NAPLES FT. MYERS FLORIDA SENIOR PHOTOGRAPHER...

I was able to shoot with this gorgeous Senior recently. She was in the state of Florida for a dance competition and came a bit further south to have her Senior pictures done with me. What an honor it is when people travel to have me shoot their images. There are no words to describe how awesome that feeling is or how grateful I am for their interest in my work. Chloe had the most gorgeous hair EVER! I love it when we do a beach shoot with senior girls and they have what I call incredibly awesome “beach hair.” Her locks were to die for. We started out our session on Marco Island where they were staying. We shot in and around their condo area as well as the ever so awesome Marco Island Marriott. After that, we headed to Naples for some fabulous dance images on my favorite beach in South Naples. Chloe is an amazing dancer and God sure delivered a spectacular sunset that night for the backdrop of her dance images. Her jumps and moves were fascinating to capture. We had a ball. 🙂 The sky was truly a majestic masterpiece to say the least. This last picture proves it… Thank you for coming to me for your senior portraits here in Marco Island and Naples, Florida Chloe. It was such a pleasure to meet and work with you and your Mom. As a photographer, I love nothing more than being able to have a new challenge and new ideas. Shooting your dance images were icing on the cake for me. Very, very fun! XOXO,...
