A few weeks ago, I met Isabella when she came in to model for a mentor workshop that I was teaching.

What is a mentor workshop? Well, I love photography, and I really love sharing what I know with new photographers looking to learn more. Not only do we go over the basics of photography but also we talk about how to take that knowledge and turn it into a successful business. In three hours of class time, we squeeze in some learning about the shooting modes, exposure triangle, bells and whistles to your camera and lenses, and so on. Then, we bring in a live model and do a shoot right there, where we hone in on lighting, posing, and other things that come up during a live shoot. I’ve had great feedback about how rewarding it is, especially for the beginner photographers looking to take their skills to the next level. If you are interested in learning more, please visit my classes page.

So, Isabella was our model, and I thought she did an amazing job. I particularly love the image of her with the ambient light from the store illuminating her from behind. Isabella is graduating high school this week, and I was so happy to capture her in this moment, before life changes for her!

Isabella, thank you for letting us pose you all afternoon. Have a wonderful graduation, and keep in touch! I know you are going to do great things!
